The purchase price is the beginning of the conversation, not the end of it. Every enthusiast car carries an annual maintenance cost that should factor into your purchase decision and your total cost of ownership calculation.

What follows are realistic annual maintenance budgets for ten popular enthusiast models, based on independent service costs for a car being used regularly but not excessively, roughly 5,000 to 8,000 miles per year.
